About US

Our Story

Welcome to Junior Golf Playbook! We started this website to share everything we’ve learned over the years for developing a competitive junior golfer. We’re parents just like you who struggled to understand what tournaments to sign up for, what equipment was worth the investment, and how to keep our junior golfer on track to eventually play at the collegiate level.

We’re Sara and Charles Coleman and have three children: Hamilton, Jackson, and Caroline. While Jackson and Caroline enjoy playing golf recreationally, our son Hamilton chose the competitive world of junior golf. Hamilton started playing in tournaments when he was 7 years old, which is when our junior golf journey began too. Fast forward to years later and Hamilton has verbally committed to the University of Georgia golf team and has aspirations of taking the golf game to the highest level. We’ve had numerous opportunities in golf along the way and want to make sure your child can get the most out of their junior golf experience!

Meet the Family Behind Junior Golf Playbook

We’re a family of 5 committed to the golf lifestyle and all it has to offer.

Sara, Mom

Loves coffee, long walks, reading, and traveling. She’s a full-time writer and you’ll find her work in multiple major publications. She also loves watching golf in-person and on TV.

Charles, aka Chili, Dad

Started playing golf at the age of 8 and hasn’t put the clubs down since. He’s fully committed to the Golf Dad Life and the biggest cheerleader for all junior golfers you’ll ever meet.

Hamilton, Son

Hammy’s junior golf journey started when he was a wee toddler and swinging plastic clubs. Years later he has racked up a number of solid finishes and competed at the highest levels of junior golf. He is a D-1 commit for the Class of 2026.

Jackson, Son

Jackson is the comic relief of the family and loves playing golf socially with his friends. He did play in junior golf tournaments when he was younger but eventually football and other hobbies won out. He loves traveling too and you’ll often see him watching Hammy closely at a tournament.

Caroline, Daughter

The other cheerleader in the family, she’s been along for the ride since the day she was born. Caroline loves spending time with friends and family, baking, creating, and occasionally joins her friends for a round of golf.
